This is the companion thread to Scientists against DU - A list to grow.

As I plow on through all the DU information that I come across, it becomes more clear all tha time that a wide range of informed people are on the record as opposing the use of DU weapons, or at least, the indiscrimant use of them that prevails.

Everyone is impressed by scientific credentials, such is the power of the temple of Science upon which modern society stakes its moral claim to rightousness. But it has become clear to me that another breed of DU opposer might have a modicum of clout as well. That would be journalists. Perhaps (hopefully) there will soon be a need for a list of celebrities against DU.

Clearly, non-PhD.-holding anti-DU "activists" such as myself and the intrepid Leuren Moret, who dislikes me and to whom I could never hold a damp squip, are not worthy of intellectual respect in the eyes of society's information managers, well, most of them, so we don't need a list. But I made one here anyway.
Devvy Kidd

Quote:
Devvy Kidd authored the booklets, Why A Bankrupt America and Blind Loyalty; 2 million copies sold. Devvy appears on radio shows all over the country, ran for Congress and is a highly sought after public speaker. Devvy belongs to no organization.

She left the Republican Party in 1996 and has been an independent voter ever since. Devvy isn't left, right or in the middle; she is a constitutionalist who believes in the supreme law of the land, not some political party. Her web site (http://www.devvy.com) contains a tremendous amount of information, solutions and a vast Reading Room.

newswithviews.com/Devvy/kidd173.htm Not to mention the crime against humanity: the use of depleted uranium in the Middle East. I have written about this before, but here is further substantiation of the horrors this government has unleashed upon the world. Many sent me mail after the first time I wrote about DU and said it isn't true. It is and our soldiers are coming home dying from it and we will see more of the same as we saw after Gulf War I: children of soldiers born with horrible deformities.

Peter Arnett

I managed to make a crappy video of Peter Arnett on TV in Taiwan discussing depleted uranium. He was here to speak to students about his career in media. During the question period, one young Taiwanese college student asked his opinion of depleted uranium. Arnett proceded to call Gulf War Syndrome by the term, "Depleted Uranium Disease." He was speaking frankly, as he often does as a professional courtesy, a habit that led to his getting fired by NBC.

Arnett has perhaps more experience with the armaments in question than any other well-known journalist, and he speaks his opinion frankly in this clip.

John Pilger

Noted journalist of a humanitarian bent, John Pilger, has written extensively about DU and put DU into his documentaries.

There is already a collection of Pilger links on DUBBS here.

I'm not sure if I'd look to Arnett for credibility or good judgement.  He doesn't seem to have a very good track record in those areas, at least of late.
